How do I build a gradebook?

Enter your class name, paste your student roster, add each assignment with its maximum points, then click Generate Gradebook. A full marks spreadsheet is created instantly with editable score cells.

How are totals and percentages calculated?

Each student's total is the sum of the points they earned across every assignment that has been marked. Their percentage is total points earned divided by total points possible for those marked assignments, converted to a percentage.

Can I add or remove assignments afterward?

Yes. Use Add Assignment Column at any time to insert a new column, or click the remove icon in a column header to delete it. Totals recalculate automatically.

Can I print or export the gradebook?

Yes. Print Gradebook produces a clean landscape-formatted table, and Download CSV exports the full spreadsheet including scores, totals, percentages and letter grades for use in Excel or Google Sheets.

A gradebook is a running record of every student's marks across every assignment in a class — quizzes, homework, tests, and projects — combined into a single spreadsheet with automatically calculated totals and grades.

How Totals Are Calculated

A student's total is the sum of points earned across every assignment that has a score entered. Their percentage is total earned ÷ total possible for those marked assignments — so an unmarked assignment never unfairly counts against a student before it's graded.

Flexible Assignment Weighting

Because every assignment contributes points proportional to its own maximum, a 50-point test naturally counts more toward the final percentage than a 10-point quiz — without needing separate weighted categories.
