Privacy Policy

Our tools run in your browser — here’s exactly what that means for your data.

1 Overview

CrimsonPDF (“we,” “our,” “the site”) provides free, browser-based academic tools for students and teachers. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit crimsonpdf.com, and — just as importantly — what we don’t collect.

The short version: our tools run entirely in your browser. We don’t require an account, and we don’t receive or store the files, text, or data you enter into any calculator or converter.

2 Information We Collect

We collect limited, standard information through Google Analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve it. This may include:

  • Pages visited and time spent on the site
  • General device and browser type
  • Approximate location, derived from IP address (typically city or region level)
  • Referral source (e.g. a search engine or another website)

We do not require registration to use any tool, so we do not collect names, email addresses, or account credentials through normal use of the site.

3 How the Tools Work

All calculators, converters, and generators on CrimsonPDF process your input directly in your browser. When you upload a file to a tool like the PDF Merger or Word to PDF converter, that file is handled on your own device — it is not transmitted to, or stored on, our servers. Closing the tab or refreshing the page clears whatever you entered.

4 Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure site traffic. You can review how Google handles this data in the Google Privacy Policy, and you can opt out using browser extensions such as the official Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on, or by adjusting your browser’s cookie settings.

CrimsonPDF does not currently run display advertising. If that changes, this policy will be updated to describe any additional cookies used by ad partners before those ads go live.

5 Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade visitor information. Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be used internally to guide which tools and articles we build next. The only third party with access to analytics data is Google, as our analytics provider.

6 Children’s Privacy

CrimsonPDF is intended for students and educators generally, including secondary school students. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from any visitor, regardless of age, since no account or personal data submission is required to use the site. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through a contact method, please reach out below and we’ll address it promptly.

7 Your Choices
  • Use nearly every tool on CrimsonPDF without any data leaving your device
  • Disable cookies or use analytics opt-out tools in your browser at any time
  • Contact us to ask what, if any, information we hold related to your visit

8 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site grows — for example, if we introduce advertising or new account-based features. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
